Valeria Arias, MS, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist LMFT-135913
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I offer faith-based professional counseling to children, teens, adult individuals, couples, and families. I offer practical, spiritually-led tools that will help you improve your communication skills, strengthen your relationships, and support your desired growth. With consistency and grace, I will walk with you through the challenges you face and point you toward healing and restoration. With God’s help, it’s possible to experience the recovery and growth you desire, and it would be my honor to travel with you on this journey toward healing and hope.
Online Counseling – Tue, Wed, Thu & Fri
If you’re looking for support related to anxiety, anger management, grief and loss, coaching and personal development, marriage problems, family relationship issues, or other concerns, it would be my privilege to work with you. I believe when we are able to strengthen our spiritual relationship with God, we become more aware of our strengths and needs and embrace challenges as growth opportunities, which allows us to show up to our relationships with more grace and authenticity.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My goal as your counselor is to support and equip you to build emotional attunement, communication skills, and healthy relationship habits that strengthen your life and spiritual journey. My hope is that through our sessions together, you will grow in your ability to respond to stressors of life and become more resilient.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a grace-filled, accepting environment where your challenges, faults, and strengths are accepted. In our sessions I provide consistency and structure, while also equipping you with skills that can be practiced beyond the therapy room to continue your personal growth.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
My educational experience aligns with my spiritual growth. I desired an education that integrated faith as a tool to navigate life challenges and experience them as opportunities to grow and mature in Christ and spiritual relationship. The benefit of such an approach is we first and foremost seek to strengthen the awareness of ourselves as one with Christ, where we are enough in Him, strengthened through Him, and overcome with Him. When we build this identity, we are better through Christ, with the people we love, and in our communities.
Qualifications & Experience
I graduated with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. I completed postgraduate training from Loma Linda University. I am a candidate for a doctoral degree at Loma Linda University School of Behavioral Health in Marriage and Family Therapy. My area of research is in family emotional strength and resiliency. I am a current certified suicide prevention trainer with Livingworks-SafeTALK and mentor first generation minority youth entering college.
My Call to Christian Counseling
God placed in me a desire to help heal and support individuals and families. As a mother, I yearned to better understand my children emotionally and practice skills that strengthen families.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I enjoy good coffee, reading, traveling, hiking, and spending time with my four children and our sweet dog Coco. I am an active member of my local church and enjoy supporting our Care Counseling ministry.

Family Counseling
In family therapy, we will work on identifying family strengths and challenging unhelpful beliefs about self and family. In our sessions together we will work on skills that strengthen the individual members emotionally while building family resiliency.
Grief and Loss
If you have experienced a loss, grief therapy can be a very helpful tool for navigating the grieving process. In our sessions together we will explore the stages of grief. We will also work on processing and accepting the pain and fear that is experienced during moments of grief and loss.

When counseling children, I also work with the parents of children seeking support. In session we will work on building emotional awareness, labeling, and communicating needs. Parents will work on modeling their expression of emotions and coping in a positive way.
